Robert Dyas was bought in July 2012 by Theo Paphitis, a former investor on the popular TV show Dragons’ Den, however the company has a long history (more than 150 years).
In 1872, Robert Dyas left County Meath, Ireland, to start a new life as an ironmonger in London with just £5 he had inherited. Robert Dyas‘s companies are still driven by his original mission to give customers with the best available products, service, and advice. He had exceptional moral fiber and work ethic.
The next century saw a massive expansion of their retail outlets across London and the rest of the South-East. World War One, the Wall Street Crash, and the bombing of their headquarters and 18 stores during The Blitz were just a few of the challenges they faced at the time.
