The term “Aspen-well,” which originally signified the presence of an Aspen grove beside a water well, gave rise to this old English given name. The tiny version of Aspen is Aspinal, hence the name. It was for this reason that we chose the name Aspinal of London for our organization’s heraldic-inspired symbol, which depicts nature, strength, and compassion.
Since its inception in 1977, Aspinal has been a family-owned enterprise. Iain Burton, a well-known entrepreneur, founded our company in 2001. The company’s creative director is Mariya Dykalo, her husband’s wife. As a family-run business, we place a high value on creating a feeling of community among our employees, clients, and community members. Since its founding, we have worked with some of the world’s most famous museums, including the National Gallery of Art, Louvre, and Vatican. Iain Burton is our founder and chairman.
As a result of this joint effort, Iain selected the best artisans to produce hand-crafted leather stationery for the museum, and Aspinal was formed.
