The goal of Simply Cook is to get more individuals in the United Kingdom into the kitchen. While there are plenty of culinary shows and famous chefs in the United States, most people still only know six or so dishes. They want to change that stereotype by spreading the word about quick and easy dishes that don’t skimp on flavour.
This results in their three objectives:
They expect delicious food from you because they value flavour.
They want to help you save money, therefore they have kept the ingredient lists for their recipes short so that you may prepare something great without spending a fortune.
The kits are flexible in that you may use them whenever you choose, the recipes only take around 20 minutes, and the ingredients are easy to come by.
Each Simply Cook box features four different easy recipes along with corresponding ingredient kits. Each kit’s flavorful ingredients were carefully conceived by trained chefs.
Initially, Oli Ashness had the idea for Simply Cook.com. Being a Londoner, his busy schedule left him little time to spend in the kitchen whipping up gourmet dinners for himself and his pals. He wanted to start eating better at night but found that it was impractical to attempt new dishes and buy expensive, high-quality products. A few months later, he started to work on a solution to this problem. The result is a website called SimplyCook.com.
They have since increased both their workforce and their clientele, and now consistently provide meals for over 700,000.
Simply Cook – Recipes
Scandi Style Salmon
Salmon rub with a burst of flavour, inspired by SC’s resident Norwegian Halvor. In addition to the salmon, they served dill pickled cucumber and Swedish “Hasselback” potatoes, so-called because they were popularised in the 1700s by the Hasselbacken restaurant in Stockholm.
Chipotle Honey Salmon
A dish made from commonplace components that has been given a Mexican twist. A nice complement to the coriander and garlic rice is their hot chipotle honey marinade for baked fish. To balance the heat of the roasted broccoli with the mild flavours of the rice and herbs, a dollop of soured cream is added before serving.
Moghul Chicken Korma
Although the Korma has a reputation for being a safe option for the uninitiated, the meal has a rich history that deserves to be recognised. It was previously served at the imperial court banquets of the Moghul dynasty, and its reputation for nobility and prestige still lingers today. While British curry establishments have transformed this into a sweet coconutty curry, they’re staying true to its regal heritage by spotlighting the dish’s spicy spices and almond flavours.
Beef Massaman
Curried coconut and tamarind sauce coat delicate meat, potatoes, and crushed peanuts in this famous meal with origins in a fusion of Iranian and Thai cooking styles. They’ve managed to capture the flavour of this traveller favourite by prepping the finicky tamarind, grinding down the galangal, and lemongrass, and combining it all together into their unique Massaman paste, which would otherwise require hours of cooking in a steel pot. Delicious and filling curry that can be made any night of the week.
