Converse (/knvrs/) is an American shoe company that designs, distributes, and licences footwear, apparel, and accessories, including sneakers, skate shoes, and lifestyle brand footwear, apparel, and accessories. Converse is headquartered in New York City. Since 2003, it has operated as a subsidiary of Nike, Inc., which was founded in 1908.
While the United States was engaged in World War II, Converse shifted its manufacturing to produce footwear for the military. It was one of the few manufacturers of athletic shoes in the world, and the company dominated the American athletic shoe market for more than half a century. As competitors introduced their own styles beginning in the 1970s, the company’s dominant position began to erode.
In today’s market, the Converse, Cons, Chuck Taylor All-Star (“Chucks”), Jack Purcell, One Star, and Star Chevron trademarks are among the products available under the company’s portfolio. Converse collaborates with other brands, such as John Varvatos, on limited-edition product releases on a regular basis. There are several characteristics that distinguish Converse shoes, including the company’s star insignia, the All Star’s rubber sole, smooth rounded toe, and a wrap-around strip around the heel.
109 Converse-owned retail stores in the United States and 63 Converse-owned retail stores in international markets sold Converse products as of 2019.

We don’t know where you’re going, but we do know you’ll be bringing Converse with you wherever you go.
Converse x Space Jam: A New Legacy “Lola” Pro Leather
The Converse Pro Leather, the shoe that Dr. J made his signature, debuted alongside Philadelphia’s new No. 6, and together they defined a generational look. “The Pro Leather was a departure from canvas,” Dr. J says of the shoe.
The Converse Pro Leather is an ode to the sneaker game that was inspired by the video game. A leather upper and lining, as well as a sockliner design, combine to create a premium look and feel. The upper is made of full grain leather, giving it a premium and classic appearance. The leather lining and sockliner provide exceptional comfort.
The Pro Leather, which was first introduced in 1976 as the All Star Professional Basketball Shoe, quickly rose to prominence and came to dominate the basketball market. This version even included a set of markers that allowed owners to customise their shoes to match the colours of their favourite sports team.
1976 was a watershed year in the history of basketball, as the ABA and NBA merged and Converse released the iconic Pro Leather shoe, which continues to be popular today. Converse has prepared a limited-edition Pro Leather “Birth of Flight” to commemorate the freewheeling nature of ’70s hoops as well as the 45th anniversary of both the merger and the Pro Leather’s debut.

cushioning makes them an excellent choice for the task due to their low profile. Having said that, they are not the only shoes that are appropriate for lifting.

OG Pro Leather
Converse Rubber Shoe Company was founded in Malden, Massachusetts, in 1908 by Marquis Mills Converse. The company is still in operation today. A forerunner of the modern All Star shoe was created by Converse and marketed under the name “Non-Skids” in 1917, the company’s first year in business. The shoe, which had a rubber sole and a canvas upper, was intended for basketball players and was made for them.
Verdict. The Converse OG Pro Leather manages to deliver versatility in style while maintaining a sense of simplicity and timeless appeal. This kick, like most low-top sneakers, can be easily paired with a variety of outfits to create a free-spirited look or a sporty-looking ensemble.
In terms of comfort, support, and sizing, the uppers are more comfortable than the cloth, and everything else is pretty much the same as it would be with a regular canvas shoe. There is no arch support, and the bottoms are flat. I simply purchased the same size in canvas that I had previously purchased and it was the same fit.
