A newlywed husband and wife team named Faye and Daniel Jobbins founded TikibooUK Ltd in May 2014 to market their newlywed business. Faye, who has a background in sales and marketing (as well as being a fitness instructor and an electronics engineer), and Daniel, who is a Creative Digital Developer and technical web guru, came up with the idea for Tikiboo shortly after their wedding.
In the beginning, Faye’s frustration with not being able to find fun and exciting gym wear sparked the idea for this line. Because she is a fitness enthusiast, Faye discovered that she was living in gym clothes more often than she was in regular clothes and desired something that stood out from the crowd.
In order to avoid the traditional pink and black combinations that predominated in her local gym and because she was unable to find any colourful activewear clothes in the UK at an affordable price, Faye began importing bright clothing from Brazil and Australia, which she sold on the internet. With the addition of high shipping costs and import duties, this quickly became an expensive habit to keep up with.
Later, Faye had an inspiration and decided to collaborate with Daniel in order to create their own line of wild and colourful leggings to sell in the United Kingdom.
The concept for the brand’s name came to me completely by chance.
“We needed something different, something silly, but memorable enough to stick in people’s minds.
We originally intended for the brand to be a small boutique, and while trying to come up with words that would work well alongside the word “boutique,” the name itself came to us accidentally when we rearranged the words “Bou-tique” and “Tique-bou.” It only took a few hours of experimenting with that concept for Tikiboo to be born!”
Daniel began developing the website shortly after, and shortly after that, he created the brand logo.
After finding manufacturers who could bring our designs to life, we were satisfied with the final products after a few refinements. “Thank you for your help.”
Faye and Daniel were completely taken by surprise when the website went live in February 2015, and the initial demand for Tikiboo leggings completely surpassed their expectations: people bought (and loved) the leggings!
Faye and Daniel were initially picking and packing all orders in their living room while also juggling their day jobs and the Tikiboo business.
In-house production included all photography (Daniel photographed and Faye modelled), packing, physically transporting sacks of packages to the post office, creating marketing campaigns, writing product descriptions, social media posts, SEO optimization, customer service and returns management…literally everything was done by the two of us! There were weeks when getting 3 hours of sleep per night became the norm. “We were like Tikiboo robots,” says the group.
Despite the fact that she adored the leggings, they were too big for her to wear at the time. She eventually persuaded us to start working on a children’s range. Soon after, these became extremely popular at her school, and all of the girls were proudly strutting around in her creations!”
Their house was literally overflowing with leggings as the demand for Tikiboo grew in the marketplace.
It became physically impossible to expand any further in those conditions, and they quickly realised that the company was rapidly growing into something that could no longer be handled by just two people.
“We had to let go of many of our initial roles in order to maintain our sanity as well as to be able to direct the company’s future growth.” We now have a number of external teams working with us to help us achieve our objectives, including external photographers, models, marketing agencies, and public relations professionals.”
Tikiboo eventually relocated to a warehouse, where a team is now in charge of the daily picking and packing of orders, ensuring that they reach their destinations as smoothly as they possibly can.
Tikiboo creates vibrant activewear products that are bright, loud, and fun, allowing people to stand out from the crowd while wearing something that can instantly become a talking point with those around them. Tikiboo is a brand that specialises in providing bright, loud, and fun activewear products that are bright, loud, and fun.
‘We frequently hear stories of people who have become friends because of their love of Tikiboo, as they recognise others wearing our products at events and begin conversing with them!
For us, this is what makes Tikiboo so special: it’s no longer just about us or the leggings; it’s about the community spirit and bringing like-minded, passionate people together (all with a love of fitness and bright, fun clothing).
Customer photos of themselves wearing Tikiboo that they upload to our social media channels are greatly appreciated, and we try to repost as many as we can of these photos. Seeing how much joy and excitement our products bring to people is what motivates us and keeps us focused on our goal of expanding the business.”
Luna Leggings With Pockets
Leggings are a group of leg coverings that have evolved over time to include many different styles. The term leg warmers or tights has come to be used in modern usage since the 1960s to refer to elastic close-fitting high-rise garments worn over the legs, typically by women. Men’s clothing, typically made of cloth or leather and wrapped around the leg all the way down to the ankle, has been referenced since the 18th century. Leggings were typically used to refer to infants’ leg clothing that was worn with a jacket in the nineteenth century, as well as leg-wrappings made of leather or wool that were worn by soldiers and trappers during the Civil War. Leggings made a significant comeback in women’s fashion in the 1960s, drawing inspiration from the form-fitting clothing worn by dancers. After being popularised by the widespread use of the synthetic fibre Lycra, as well as the rise in popularity of aerobics, leggings gained even more prominence in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s, eventually making their way into streetwear. Leggings are a part of the athleisure fashion trend that began in the late 2010s and will continue into the 2020s, which is the wearing of activewear outside of sporting activities and in casual settings.
Leggings have been worn by both men and women for warmth and protection for hundreds of years, in a variety of styles and under numerous names. As are the trews worn by men in the Scottish Highlands, the separate hose worn by men in Europe from the 13th to 16th centuries (the Renaissance period) were a form of leggings. Some Native Americans wore leggings made of buckskin leather that were separate from their clothing. A small number of Long Hunters and French fur trappers used these, and later mountain men did as well. They are the leatherstockings from James Fenimore Cooper’s Leatherstocking Tales, which are set in the 18th century. A dull grey brain-tan was the predominant colour of the Buckskins rather than the bright, glossy vegetable tanned leather that is commonly used today.
Cowboys wore buckskin leggings to protect their legs from chapping caused by riding, wear and tear on their pants, and bites from animals such as snakes or insects found in the scrub, such as ticks, among other things.
Wool leggings were worn by both men and women in many places, particularly in colder countries such as Russia and Korea, well into the twentieth century, often as an additional outer layer for warmth to keep warm.
The linen pantalettes worn by girls and women under crinolines in the mid-19th century were also a type of leggings, and they were originally designed as two separate garments to be worn together. Leggings first appeared in the 1960s as a type of trouser that was similar to capri pants but was much tighter.

With the release of her workout videos in the early 1980s, actress Jane Fonda helped to popularise the sportier version of the dress that we are all so familiar with today. Jane Fonda’s signature aerobics look merged the disco pant vibe of the 1970s with the comfort and practicality that have made leggings so popular in recent years, resulting in a look that is still popular today.
Leggings are one of those wardrobe essentials that can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.
It is brought on by friction, also known as chafing. “We see intertrigo in a significant number of cyclists,” Ploch said. Take a shower after workouts, put on dry clothes as soon as possible, and experiment with an anti-fungal powder to help prevent intertrigo.
Fabletics is a low-cost activewear brand that sells a wide variety of high-quality items at a reasonable price. Their clothes are not only comfortable, but they also make you feel good about your body!
Leggings should be a comfortable fit, neither too tight nor too loose. Check that they are snugly fitting your body without tracing the body shape or celluloid. It’s also important that they’re not too loose that you end up looking sloppy. You can still get away with wearing ill-fitting leggings if you pair them with tops that stretch all the way to the bottom of your feet.

As a certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor, and fitness model, Bianca Vesco advises that when shopping for leggings (or any other workout bottom), the most important features to consider are the fabric quality, the waistband, and the length of the garment.
However, while running tights look and feel a lot like leggings, they are more translucent, and it is necessary to wear shorts or another layer over the top of them to stay warm. These are worn primarily for their thermal properties, as well as for modesty when worn under shorter layers. Tights are frequently designed to enclose the foot or have an ankle loop.
The use of compression tights helps to support and stabilise your muscles while you train by absorbing some of the strain that is applied to your muscles as you squeeze them. They also have the additional benefit of increasing blood flow and muscle oxygenation. This helps to speed up the muscle repair process and reduce muscle fatigue after a workout by reducing inflammation.
Additionally, there are Ultra High-Rise, Capri, and other styles available, depending on how much coverage you prefer. Yoga pants like these are the kind you’ll never want to take off, and the good news is that you won’t have to. They’re soft and comfortable enough to wear as loungewear while still providing excellent performance during workouts.
