Trevor Beattie visited the French Connection UK offices and noticed the abbreviation FCHK on an internal memo, which stood for French Connection Hong Kong. This was the beginning of the abbreviation FCUK, which was born as a result of his observation. This led Beattie to propose that the brand adopt the abbreviation FCUK, which stands for French Connection United Kingdom. As history has it, a controversial advertising campaign featuring the simple phrase ‘fcuk fashion’ made headlines in the spring of 1997, and went on to become a universally recognised great fashion moment.

CASHMERE ROLL NECK JUMPER
Cashmere is worth the high price tag because of the quality of the fibre it is made of. It’s a luxurious wool that is soft to the touch and is typically made to last a long time. Purchase a high-quality cashmere sweater or knit and you will have a piece of clothing that will last for many years to come!
However, this is also stated by the other High Street brands, and all of the low-cost cashmere appears to be manufactured (the yarn is spun and dyed, and the sweater is machine-knitted) in China, which is where Marks’ is made, with the exception of Tesco’s, which is manufactured in Madagascar. Except for the sweaters sold by Tesco, all of the sweaters on the High Street are machine washable.
While many cashmere sweaters cost in excess of $500 (and it’s not uncommon to see examples costing in excess of $1,000), there has been an increase in the number of affordable cashmere sweaters available on the market in recent years. The majority of these sweaters are produced by relatively new brands, with the most expensive reaching $100.
Only cashmere sweaters made entirely of cashmere can be labelled as 100 percent cashmere. Mislabeling cashmere is actually a crime under the Wool Products Labeling Act, which makes it illegal to sell unauthentic cashmere. Generally speaking, hand washing your cashmere at home will be beneficial.

CASHMERE CREW NECK JUMPER
Uniqlo cashmere sweaters have a lot to offer in terms of comfort and style. They are frequently on sale for around $50 (down from about $100), making them one of the most affordable 100 percent cashmere sweaters we found. We put two crew necks through their paces, and their construction was solid, with good ribbing at the cuffs, collar, and hem.
It is even true that the scales on cashmere are finer than those on wool – and the scales have a great deal to do with how itchy a garment feels. Consider each fibre to be a long, thin file of information. As your body moves in opposition to the fibres, the scales can become entangled, which is the most common cause of skin irritation and a burning sensation.
Because pashmina can only be obtained from a single breed of goat, it is more expensive than cashmere while also being softer and warmer. The softness and warmth of cashmere are retained, but it is slightly more durable and less expensive than pashmina.
In the processing of raw cashmere hair, grades are established based on the length and thickness of the hair, which are measured in density units known as microns. Grade A cashmere is typically 14 to 15.5 microns in thickness and 30 to 34 cm in length, while Grade B cashmere is 16 to 19 microns in thickness and 30 to 34 cm in length; to put this in perspective, human hair is approximately 75 to 100 microns in thickness and length.
A result of Shahtoosh shawls and the cruelty that was associated with them, Cashmere was also regarded as cruel by some people. However, this was not the case. Because cashmere is a natural fibre, it is obtained in an ethical manner. It is processed without the use of machines, which contributes to it being a more environmentally friendly product.

CASHMERE HOODIE
Premium cashmere is made from the long hairs of goats, and it is combed rather than sheared to achieve its softness. Shearing results in shorter fibres that are more susceptible to pilling. Before you purchase a garment, rub the surface of the garment with the palm of your hand to see if fibres begin to roll up and/or shed from the garment.
It is technically wool, but cashmere comes from specific breeds of goats rather than sheep. Cashmere fibres are much finer and lighter than even the finest sheep’s wool, and they are up to eight times more insulating than even the highest-quality sheep’s wool. In order to make a ladies’ sweater, approximately two goats’ worth of fibre is required.
Cashmere is widely regarded as one of the world’s softest fibres, and it is used in a variety of products. Because of its fine hairs, it can be woven into incredibly soft and luxurious garments that last for a long time, but it comes at a high price. In addition to having two layers of hair, cashmere goats have a super-soft cashmere undercoat and a thick wiry guard hairs on the outside.
With respect to other types of wool, cashmere is the most luxurious and expensive natural textile due to its superior softness and fineness, as well as its lighter weight and greater strength.
Cashmere is a luxurious fabric that is also comfortable, breathable, and utterly elegant. To the contrary, people can expect cashmere to be fashionable not only during any season but throughout the entire year.
