The ELEGANT 1200 pairs an open walk-in layout with two glass shelves, so the key decision is whether its fixed footprint and storage suit your room.
When a bathroom plan calls for a walk-in screen, the choice is not only about clear glass. The footprint, splash control, storage and installation constraints all shape whether a particular panel will work day to day. The ELEGANT 1200 Walk in Shower Enclosure is a specific option in the Elegant Shower UK – webgain range because its listing combines an open screen with two integrated shelves.
We reviewed the product information published by the store. This is a listing-based assessment, so the measurements and features below should be confirmed against the current product page and your own room before you commit.

What you need to know
- The ELEGANT 1200 is listed at 1200 x 1900 mm with 8 mm tempered glass.
- Two tempered glass shelves are integrated into the screen, each stated by the listing to support 15 kg.
- A 1000 mm support arm, aluminium profile and 15 mm wall adjustment are part of the published specification.
- It suits a bathroom plan that can accommodate an open walk-in entry; a sliding model may suit a tighter approach better.
The ELEGANT 1200 combines an open screen with useful storage
The core proposition is specific: a clear, fixed walk-in panel rather than a fully enclosed cubicle, with two shelves built into the glass. The store lists the panel at 1200 x 1900 mm, made from 8 mm tempered safety glass, and describes an aluminium profile. For someone planning a simple shower zone, these details make the ELEGANT 1200 Walk in Shower Enclosure more than a plain splash screen. Its two glass shelves offer a place for bathing essentials without adding a separate wall fitting.
The product page states that each shelf supports up to 15 kg and describes a NANO self-clean glass coating intended to discourage water marks. That could be useful where bottles otherwise gather on the floor or a ledge. Still, the feature is best read as a convenience, not a promise of maintenance-free glass: water hardness, ventilation and cleaning habits will affect how the screen looks. See the linked ELEGANT 1200 details for the current specification, shelf arrangement and finish information.
A 1000 mm support arm and stated 15 mm wall adjustment help define the fitting requirements. The adjustment is not a substitute for measuring: check the finished wall line, floor level and clear path into the shower. The listing also presents the screen as reversible, but confirm orientation and included fittings on the selected listing before ordering. The current product details are the useful reference point for those checks.
Its fixed footprint rewards careful room planning
A 1200 mm wide panel needs enough uninterrupted wall and floor area, plus room for the open entry to feel comfortable. Open screens have a light visual presence, but the absence of a full door means the shower head direction and screen placement matter for keeping water within the intended zone. Measure from the finished surfaces, not just the bare room plan, and consider where towels, vanity doors and other traffic routes sit.
Before choosing, check these points against the bathroom drawing:
- Confirm the available finished width and height against the listed 1200 x 1900 mm panel.
- Map the opening and shower spray direction to reduce splash beyond the screen.
- Check whether the shelves sit at a comfortable reach and whether their stated load capacity suits the items you keep nearby.
- Verify the tray or floor arrangement, support-arm fixing point and all included components on the product page.
The ELEGANT 1200 is strongest where the room can support a clear walk-in route and where built-in storage is genuinely useful. It is less persuasive if the only viable shower position is close to a doorway or if a household needs a door to contain spray. The store has other configurations, and browsing the walk-in screen selection can help establish whether a panel, return panel or enclosed cubicle fits the project better.
A sliding enclosure suits a different daily routine
The ELEGANT 1600x800mm Sliding Shower Enclosure is a useful contrast, not a like-for-like substitute. Its listing describes an 8 mm easy-clean Nano glass cubicle with a sliding entry, which can make sense when a hinged door would swing into a tight bathroom. The trade-off is a more enclosed footprint and moving door hardware. Compare its exact layout and included components through the ELEGANT 1600x800mm Sliding Shower Enclosure page before treating the size in the product name as your finished opening.
For a smaller open arrangement, the ELEGANT 900 Walk in Shower Enclosure also pairs a walk-in screen with two glass shelves. Its listing identifies 8 mm safety glass; its narrower nominal width may suit a different wall span, though the splash and entry questions remain. The ELEGANT 900 Walk in Shower Enclosure is worth comparing if the 1200 mm panel exceeds the space you can give the shower.
The store’s catalogue brings together walk-in panels, sliding enclosures, trays and bathroom fittings, which is useful when one project has several linked decisions. A product page can still leave practical questions unanswered for an unusual wall or floor condition. Use the brand’s shower range to compare formats, then contact the retailer if the fit or included components are unclear. Recheck the ELEGANT 1200 listing before finalising a specification.
Delivery and installation details deserve a final check
Large glass items bring practical logistics into the buying decision. The product information says delivery arrangements depend on the largest item in an order and identifies postcode exclusions or additional delivery conditions. Check the current delivery page for your address and wait until the goods arrive and have been inspected before booking installation work; the store itself advises against scheduling trades before checking the delivery.
Returns and warranty terms are also described on the retailer’s service pages, with some variation by product and component. Review the current delivery information, returns policy and guarantee terms alongside the item listing. On the product page, confirm what is included, whether a tray is separate, and how damage should be reported. These checks matter more for a fixed glass installation than a small bathroom accessory.
Cost will depend on the exact configuration and any separate components the room needs, so check the current listing rather than relying on an old campaign image or cached search result. The retailer’s published specification can change, and colours may appear different on screen. Confirm the live product details and the delivered package before arranging the fitter.
Is the ELEGANT 1200 right for your bathroom?
We recommend shortlisting the ELEGANT 1200 if you want an open walk-in screen, have a suitable 1200 mm wall span and value shelves built into the glass. Its 8 mm panel, support arm and listed wall adjustment give the page useful planning detail, while the shelf arrangement is a practical differentiator. Check the current ELEGANT 1200 specification against your finished measurements before deciding.
Its limitation is also clear: an open screen cannot provide the same containment as a closed enclosure, and a nominal dimension alone cannot guarantee a workable fit. If the entry, splash path or wall conditions are uncertain, compare the sliding enclosure and 900 mm walk-in option before making the final call. For a room that suits its footprint, the 1200 is a considered choice with storage built into the screen.
